"After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, 'Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!'" ~Rev. 7:9-10
A glimpse of things to come, written by John about 2,000 years ago. For another glimpse of that in more recent times, listen to Louie's podcast from Uganda....awesome and indescribable....
**My Pic is from Passion's WT stop at Kampala, showing the African students' support for Paris, which starts tomorrow. I love Paris, and wish I could be there tomorrow....
Anyway, in other news, this past weekend was crazy-busy (suprised? didnt think so). I had the honor of directing Kevin and Julie's wedding! Scott was a groomsmen too, so it was special for both of us! (I do have to say it was kinda weird not having Kevin behind the piano at a wedding that I directed!) They are the first of "our" students to get married, and so they were kinda like our children too. I cried as they said thier vows and as Harry pronounced them husband and wife. It was beautiful! And I admire their godliness in their relationship throughout their courtship and engagement. I know that Kevin will be a great leader for their household and Julie will be a sweet and loving wife! Check out some of the pics at The Gresham's blog: http://greshamphoto.blogspot.com/ (The Greshams are awesome photographers and so, so sweet!)
So after the craziness of the wedding, we hung out at our house, but not before half of our neighbor's very, very large oak tree crashed into our driveway and front lawn! Now, remember, we had a beautiful, cloudless day on Saturday, not a breeze to be found! But the poor old tree had been struck by lightening at least twice in the past several years, so it was bound to happen, but you generally expect that on a stormy, windy day! Fortunately, no cars were in the driveway, and it only grazed our house, so no damage or injuries (although, Ryan and Joel were there when it happened and they had to scurry out of the way). BUT, Scott had to spend all of Sunday morning chain-saw-ing his way out of the driveway. He had help from out neighbors, Mr. B., and Michael. (Thanks guys!!!)
Next adventure, Sunday afternoon we left with the camp team captains to go to the lake for their retreat. Jonathan has asked Scott to help disciple all the captains, so they in turn are better equipped to pour into their team's counselors and kids. So we finally get to the Settle's lake house on Smith Lake, and the pontoon boat finally arrives with Jonathan and Heather. Well, it turns out this pontoon boat is the Boat of Impending Death...let me just tell you...it was held together by screwdrivers...the gas guage didnt work...it spewed smoke...and to top it off, Scott fell overboard because of a broken seat and gashed his side open. (Side-gash Scottie and/or Sliced Scottie) After "abandoning ship" we had a better evening, chilling out, eating together and playing "Gretch" and "Signs".
So here I am, Monday afternoon, after an eventful, but good, weekend. Sorry for the random-ness of this post, but I did not get to bed until 2:00 this morning..... *yawn*.....gonna need more S'bucks this afternoon...
